I recently completed a wonderful week-long immersion in the National Writing Project and came away with a renewed faith in the possibilities of writing. I concluded my reflection essay of the experience with these words, "While
it may seem steeped in Hallmark sentimentality to say, I believe in the clear message of the Writing Institute (and National Writing Project). Writing changes
things. It changes people. It can change the world. And I truly believe every
student, given the right environment, can discover and use that power within him
or herself." I am creating this blog space as a venue to celebrate and honor the words of my students, as well as my own, as we embark on this journey together.
